We want to provide an archery destination that allows archers to reach their highest potential. No matter which program you attend at Root River Archery, we will adapt our approach to give you the opportunity to be your best.
We will help you build your archery skills: hunting, target, and/or recreational, providing for all your archery needs. We believe in putting the customer first and building the best archery set up we can that’s perfectly tailored to them and their needs. We aim to set a high standard for the integrity of the work we do on bows, treating every set up as if it were our own.
In 2018, The Shooters Sports Center decided to split into two separate entities in order to focus the two businesses. From this decision, Root River Archery was made and off to a running start. Helmed by a team of skilled archery experts, we continue to cultivate relationships with local archers of all ages and finished building a beautiful outdoor range. Our staff is always learning and implementing the latest techniques in bow and arrow building for any shooting style. We’ve still got some things left to do on our checklist, but we’re making big steps towards creating Wisconsin’s best archery destination for everyone.
Bernie Kupper started our parent company, The Shooters Sports Center, in 1986 with fellow Racine police officer Jim Schunk. Over the decades, the archery department has been led by very passionate individuals and is currently led by our archery manager, Tom Perdikaris. Second in command, Joel Minneti, has focused on youth instruction and the development of the business and our construction projects. Our head coach/bow technician, Andrew Tran, has helped to develop our bow building processes and grow our amazing archery team. Joshua Holden, our lead bow tech, and his wife Rhia, our archery coach, are critical in the success of our customers. And last but not least, Tess Riley ensures we're all doing our jobs and doesn't let us lounge about, as well as developing our brand.
